Martyn & Tanith

Martyn and Tanith celebrated their special day with us at Rosewood Pavilion. Although last-minute changes had to be made due to unexpected rain, Martyn and Tanith had a beautiful ceremony and reception with us and even had a wedding weekend with our lakeside lodges. We talk to the happy couple all about their wedding at Rosewood.

Why did you choose Rosewood for your wedding?

Being from the South East we were originally looking at places in Hertfordshire, Essex, and London. As you can imagine, they were all lovely but extremely pricey! So we turned our radar north and discovered Rosewood. As soon as we drove down the path to the marquee we knew it was perfect for us, even though it was raining! The grounds were stunning and we could see lots of photo opportunities. Once we’d had a chat with the manager, who explained the packages and how the day usually runs, we could picture our day being at Rosewood. We were quite concerned about the ‘flow’ of certain venues but after we had performed a mental run through of the day at Rosewood we were sold. Not only was the location quiet and beautiful, the price was almost half what we had been looking at paying down south.

Did you have a theme for your wedding?

We had a slight travel theme for our wedding; we didn’t want it to be the main feature but had little touches here and there. We used a map for our table plan, our table names were countries we had visited together, the favours were small ‘airmail packages’ filled with chocolate hearts and kisses and we had a postcard guest book.

What was the best thing about your wedding day?

The best thing about our wedding day was how effortless it was. The ceremony flowed into the drinks reception and then into the marquee. The staff were amazing, we didn’t worry about a thing on the day. One of the most memorable things is the food…it was incredible! My guests still comment now on how nice the food was. I also loved the fact that you had the onsite lodges – we hired them all out and even arranged a hog roast for the Sunday, we ended up having a wedding weekend which was lovely.

Would you change anything about your wedding day?

Originally we wanted to get married outside, however, it rained over the 1 hour of our ceremony slot! Nicola was great and she left it up until the last minute to ‘call off’ the outside ceremony & whilst I was disappointed, the ceremony room had recently been refurbished so it was beautiful inside too. The only thing I would comment is we had 95 guests and it was hot in there!

Would you recommend Rosewood?

I would definitely recommend Rosewood – we had an amazing, carefree day and didn’t pay through the nose for it. The staff were helpful and the grounds were well kept, we were accommodated when we wanted to look around, show our parents and the photographer around! Thank you for helping us celebrate our special day.
